How it differs from an LED tool
LED program software handles one big canvas and a playlist. Signage is a different job: several screens, each split into zones, content that changes weekly rather than once a quarter. HDSign is built around that: you lay out zones, assign material to each, set a schedule, then publish to the player.
Where we use it
Signage players and all-in-one screens in our catalogue whose media layer is Huidu-based. If your screen came with a built-in player board, check the label or send us the model before installing — a player that shipped with a different publishing platform will not accept an HDSign project, and no amount of version switching will change that.
Before installing
Windows 7 or later with admin rights. Write down the player IP and confirm which port your network allows for publishing. In our experience publishing fails on network policy far more often than on the software itself — a site IT team that blocks outbound ports will stop you before any bug does.
Version
2.0.2 is the current published build and the one we ship on new projects. The manual is still V1.0 and mostly accurate; the parts that drifted are in the scheduling screen, which is easy to work out from the interface.
If publishing fails
Ping the player first. If it answers, the port or the account is next. If it does not answer, the player is probably on DHCP and has moved — assign a static address before you chase anything else, because half of these calls turn out to be an address that changed overnight.
Displays this software runs
These are the manufacturer installers, mirrored unchanged for our customers. Version notes follow the vendor release notes. Do not flash firmware on a screen that is running a live campaign without a backup of the current program.
